かに道楽 – We picked these hats up at the Kani Douraku restaurant in Osaka. Good fun.

I snapped this one while driving around Osaka. Just love the comment about the security camera, very cute.

Homely

On 27, 12月 2010 | No Comments | In Art, Culture, Home, Japan | By jezza

There’s something just hauntingly homely about this shot in south Osaka. The bike parked out front, green trees, a modern but somehow rustic feel to it.

Sports Day at Kindy – Habikino

On 03, 12月 2010 | No Comments | In 未分類 | By jezza

Jess and Oli competed in the kids races at the sports day for the kindy Jess attended while we were in Osaka this year. Luckily the rain held out for most of the day while the kids did their parachute and ball games. It’s all very ordered and the kids seem to love it.

But checkout all the serious parents with some very serious camera gear! :)

This is where we get all our cute clothes. They have sooo much cool stuff.

While the mums wander through the clothes, us kids head off to where the real action is, the TOYS!

Bells

On 19, 10月 2010 | No Comments | In 未分類 | By jezza

Bells are a major symbol here in Japan, warding off spirits and notifying people of child and pet’s whereabouts.

As part of the buddhist religion these huge bells are rung 108 times at the end of the year to ward off bad luck and stave the earthly desires.

This time Kana and Jess took the time to ring in our return, and say a quick hello to our Dad up above.
