Tai is a kind of snapper in Japan. There’s a tradition that it’s eaten at celebrations and that has led to this custard cake version.
It’s a bit like a custard filled pancake cooked in a sandwich maker, except it’s shaped like a small snapper.
This is where we used to buy from in Osaka, delicious @ a few dollars each.
